Sisterhood without Borders

The European Alumnae Chapter Sisterhood Without Borders Scholarship created a scholarship for initiated undergraduate or graduate members of Sigma Kappa in good standing who is currently studying (or has previously studied) abroad, or whose studies have an international focus. For more information on applying, please refer to the Sigma Kappa Foundation.

The Longest Day

The European Alumnae Chapter participates in a unique annual fundraising event on the first day of Summer. In support of Sigma Kappa's dedication to gerontology philanthropy initiatives, the chapter participates in the Alzheimer’s Association’s “The Longest Day,” a sunrise-to-sunset relay event to raise funds for the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association. Because we are scattered around the globe, each sister participates in their activity and then conducts a candlelight ceremony at sunset in their own time zone. Last year we went from Australia through Africa, ending in the western United States. We are proud to have participated in this event since its inception and consistently raise thosands of dollars for this great cause.
